A meetup of Leeds-based artists of colour to connect, share knowledge and to find out about fellow artists in the city and beyond

Join Omari Swanston-Jeffers and friends for the first of an informal series of meetups to encourage support amongst Leeds-based artists of colour.

The online session will be an occasion for conversation, short talks and performance. It will also be an opportunity to find out more about project The Shoulders of Giants (TGS) a long term arts project created to explore and to document Afro* art, artists and their impact on UK arts, culture and social life. All artists of colour are welcome whether you are early to mid career or beyond.

Afro Art Club is part of a wider TGS project funded by Arts Council England. An aim is that in-person meetups can take place later in the year alongside future online gatherings and that this event can be the first of many.
