This creative session run by poet and performer Muneera Pilgrim and curator and speaker Melanie Abrahams will support participants to develop their speaking and writing skills and to focus on the importance and the value of using literature and voice, for change and for progress. We will look at the practices and habits of writers and artists of Caribbean and British-Caribbean communities to explore the ways that we can learn and benefit from models and approaches that can become part of our creative process.
The session is suitable for early to mid-career writers, poets and artists who are using writing and speaking in their practice. Featured as an accompanying education session to the We Liming event which takes place on 30 April as part of Lyra Festival, we particularly welcome participants of Caribbean heritage. Developed in partnership between Lyra Festival and Renaissance One.
