Kerry Young and Hannah Lowe read fiction and poems on memory, migration and the lives of the Caribbean-British diaspora.
Young reads from her new novel Show Me A Mountain, part of a trilogy including Gloria and Costa Prize-shortlisted Pao, which searches out Jamaica’s multicultural history and the complexities of a country and its citizens in the search for independence. Lowe reads from her new poetry collection Chan, following her Forward Prize-shortlisted debut Chick, and exploring the experiences of her Jamaican father, his cousin the famed saxophonist Joe Harriot, and a ship full of dreamers sailing on the SS Ormond from Kingston to Liverpool in 1947.
A partnership between Nottingham Festival of Literature and Renaissance One.
