Jean ‘Binta’ Breeze MBE is a renowned Jamaican poet who marked her 60th birthday this year with a new poetry collection, The Verandah Poems. Having made Leicester her home for many years, she is Patron of mental health charity Soft Touch Arts and an honorary Creative Writing Fellow at the University of Leicester. Maggie Harris is a Guyana-born poet and short story writer living in Wales. Her awards include two Guyana Prizes for Literature, most recently this year for her poetry collection Sixty Years and Loving, and a Commonwealth Short Story Prize.
A partnership between Literary Leicester and Renaissance One as part of The Verandah Poems Tour, which is funded by Arts Council England.
