Derby Poetry Festival, She Speaks UK, Renaissance One and The Maypole presents Shivanee Ramlochan as part an evening of woman poets and voices brought to you by She Speaks.

Welcome to a challenging and courageous voice by Trinidadian poet, blogger and journalist Shivanee Ramlochan.  Her writing brings attention to the roles of everyday people, from grandmothers, labourers and dancers, to clerks, policemen and cousins.  She exploreswith the greatest intensity what it is to be human.   Her first poetry collection Everyone Knows I Am A Haunting has been published this year by Peepal Tree Books.

As well as performing regularly she writes about books for the NGC
Bocas Lit Fest, the Anglophone Caribbean's largest literary festival
and she is the deputy editor of the Caribbean Review of Books.
