In partnership with Melbourne University, Renaissance One invites you to ‘Writing Desire and Finding Wellbeing with author Maame Blue’ as part of the This is Who We Are (TIWWA) ProjectMaame Blue will talk though crafting stories and works around desire, utilising different mediums to facilitate your writing, and finding wellbeing for the creative and their audience.

The meaning behind Writing Desire and Finding Wellbeing: This event will talk you through creating the setting for your own desire and relationship stories, and finding ways to take care of ourselves in the process - by way of creative wellbeing. The event will include a Q and A with the author and books will be on sale and there will be an author signing. The event is supported by publisher Jacaranda Books.

This event is part of This Is Who We Are (TIWWA) which is part of the British Council's UK-Australia season.

Bio

Maame Blue is a Ghanaian-Londoner and author of the novel Bad Love, which won the 2021 Betty Trask award, and was shortlisted for the Betty Trask Prize. Her short story ‘Prodigal’ appears in the Speaking Volumes anthology Not Quite Right For Us, and her story ‘Howl’ was featured in the KYD New Australian Fiction 2020 anthology. Her writing has since appeared in various places including Writers Mosaic, The Independent and Black Ballad. Her work will appear in the upcoming children’s anthology Joyful, Joyful and she runs regular writing workshops on creating complicated relationships, romance and short stories.
